I couldn't help it. It's the cover shot.</p><p>The Columbia River has these cool house boats laid out in a dock type setting like a little community. </p><p>I love the watery garages. Good for parking a wet bike or even a small boat.</p><p>The Columbia River as seen from the bridge crossing into Washington.</p><p>We Made It!!</p><p>Washington has a lot of pretty rivers like this one.</p><p>Sign of the times, not too far to Seattle now.</p><p>I am the inventor of high speed flower photography. For some reason I don't think it is going to catch on.</p><p>This is something you don't see everyday and answers a lot of questions nobody would ever bother to ask.</p><p>This interesting artwork is located south of Seattle on I-5. It is high speed art and was meant to be viewed doing at least 65 mph.</p><p>There are some really tall trees in Washington.</p><p>Sophie asks, "Are we there yet?"</p><p>I just thought this was a cool car. I was cool too in my bad U-haul truck this guy just seemed cooler.</p><p>Traffic is backed up on I-5 north all the way south of the Tacoma Dome. Stay tuned on KJJ radio cause we're not going anywhere. That actually is the Tacoma Dome.</p><p>There it is Seattle, notice the cranes for the cargo port, and the Space Needle is just left of center.</p><p>There is the Space Needle shot. Any story about Seattle must have that picture.</p><p>They Call Seattle the City of Lakes. This one is called Lake Union and even though it is a fresh water lake that is above sea level, ocean going vessels like the one pictured here are able to get on the lake. They pass through the Ballard Locks to get up on the lake and have work done on them at one of the many shipyards. The lake is also very popular for recreational activities. That's the cover shot.</p><p>First look at Multnomah Falls. Located in the Columbia River Gorge about 20 miles east of Portland Oregon.</p><p>This sign on the trail to the top of the falls tells the story of the local geology and geography. They really want everyone to stay on the trail.</p><p>This is a picture of the bottom of the upper fall where it falls into this pool. It's pretty there and cool because of the mist.</p><p>This is a view of the Columbia River from high up on the trail to the top of the falls. </p><p>Reina may be, "Just a dog," but she knows the importance of staying hydrated while on a big hike. Just after this picture was taken, a guy from Arrowhead Water gave her a scooby snack.</p><p>This is a picture of the elusive Northern Oregon Turbo Varmint they get 0-60 in 4.2 seconds and this one was very difficult to get a picture of. There was a large crowd standing behind me (3 people but they were all pretty big).</p><p>This picture of the Columbia River taken from way up toward the top of the falls is kind of woodsy. Lots of trees obstructing the view. I liked this pic. due to the way the trees frame the river.</p><p>This is a shot of the top of the falls. It was taken from about the 550 foot level. The falls drop 620 feet for the upper fall top to the pool.</p><p>This is Reina in sylhouette, somebody tell A mac I am still trying. Reina does not really count as wildlife but she is feisty.</p><p>Notice the way Reina's tongue curls upward as she starts to overheat. Dogs evaporate saliva on their tongue to cool themselves, they also lie in a cool spot and will drop the heat out of their body if given the chance.</p><p>Waterfall dogs. Reina (center) and Sophie (right?) They were dog tired by this stage.</p><p>This is another postcard shot but the first one had a longer exposure which made the water stand out a little more. This one has better color for the background but my favorite would be the first one.</p><p>This is a picture of the lower fall. I like the water in motion effect.</p><p>Last look at Multnomah falls. These falls are actually close to the Portland Airport. Anybody with a long layover could take a cab the 18 miles to go see them. </p><p>Dog devestation. For some reason I couldn't interest these guys in a nice walk.</p><p>The sign at Horse Tail Falls. These falls are just a few miles east of Multnomah.</p><p>This pretty water fall actually does look like a horses tail.</p><p>The bottom of Horse Tail Falls. It has a nice pool there, and there was a couple swimming there when I took this picture.</p><p>This shot of the Columbia River Gorge was taken at dusk.</p><p>Columbia River just after sundown.</p><p>This sign at the view point had some interesting Oregon history.</p><p>Poor Reina, Limping around like a three legged dog she collapsed right there and didn't get up for 10 hours. This is like doggies big adventure for her.</p><p>Sign of the times Portland is only 395 miles away which means only about 420 miles to a state that doesn't have an income tax.</p><p>Mt. Shasta still has snow on it in July......what's that Mr. Gore? Al says it is just due to the heavy snows we had this winter. I just think it's pretty and wish there was more.</p><p>Mt. Global Warming.............I have no clue what this mountains name is. It is near Mt. Shasta</p><p>The savior of the California economy has arrived and just in time. You notice they are selling it at every exit. Note: There was a surprising amount of restaraunts and fast food joints around this town.</p><p>I don't know what they do out at this airport ,but I have a one word guess.......Export!!!</p><p>Pretty Northern California!</p><p>Scenic mountain views at Oregon's southern border.</p><p>Despite all of the food breaks and rest stops we needed after our trip to weed, we made it to the border.</p><p>Oregon has a totally different kind of scenery and I thought this pic. kind of captured that.</p><p>Sign of the times. We are making good headway to the northward. Temperature is getting a little more reasonable too.</p><p>I was behind a couple of Newsvine Trolls in their ride. This is what they look like in the real world....oh,.... wait for it,..... we have a judges ruling. Tyler gives out 1 day suspensions for troll abuse....1 day is not too bad. I could just go hang out with my friend Elaine.</p><p>Either that is Cheech and Chong having a smoke break or that van is just about ready to burst into flames.</p><p>On the 205 just South East of Portland, Oregon a victim is removed from a multi- car accident. You can tell by the stretcher that they are planning to transport to the hospital.</p><p>This picture was taken in Troutdale which is just east of Portland. The mountain is just across the river in Washington State.
