I must say I enjoyed V for Vendetta very much!
I saw it on Friday, and i must say 2 thumbs up it was a great movie. Reminded me of Orwell's 1984. Very powerful message, i would highly recommend it.
Many have said that this film is one that, now more than ever, everyone should see.
"People should not be afraid of their government. A government should be afraid of their people."
I contributed to that $26.1 mil by going myself and bringing 5 friends :D. Really, really provocative movie and next weekend, I just might have to see it again.
Smarter than average is right. I thought it was overly cheesy at times, but even as somewhat of a movie snob I would definitely recommend this movie.
I dismissed Natalie Portman as being a real actor due to my exposure to her only through the tepid Star Wars prequels. It's of my opinion (and of others, I'm sure) that George Lucas can only suck the life out of any actor he directs. She really lights up the screen and gives life to this movie.
I particularly like the catchphrase.... "People should not be afraid of their government. Governments should be fightened of their people." Would that were true?
Who thinks of these things anyways.... Its too little for a copywriter. The Screen play writer, maybe....
@Sandeep -- I'm pretty sure that's in the original text.
@Killfile -- That's not always the case though. Often times I have noticed that the phrae used to publicize is not part of the stor theme or text. [shrugs] no matter, qute well done in any case...
Man, I liked this movie so much I would have payed $25-30 to buy it while leaving the theatre and I still would. I wish that were feasible.
