Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

This is the second AP story I've seen with Rep. Brian Higgins' photo attached. I realize the photo has relevance to the story, as the caption describes, but do they not have a single recent photo of Gerry Adams?

On the subject of the story, wasn't Sinn Fein taken of the US' terrorist organization list years ago and we now recognize them as a political party? Come to think of it, since they're the IRA's political arm, were they ever on the terrorist organization list here?

Most Northern Irish citizens holding Irish passports with their names written in Gaelic are routinely and extensively searched when passing through US airports. Whilst this form of discrimination is only mildly insulting, it is time-consuming.

As a matter of fact, the 'SSSS' code appears to depend on your passport. I am a Irish citizen who has lived in various parts of the US and have used both passports and US-issued ID (driving licenses etc) at airport check-ins. Only my passport has ever presented me with trouble.

On one memorable occasion, I was flying with a friend, Siobhan, when the immigration officer began making fun of her name (and not in a friendly manner either). "Si-o-baaaaaaaaaaaan? Is that supposed to be your name?", Ronaldo inquired.
