Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

"The analogy I use is, if the FDA was testing an anticancer drug, and your neighbor said, 'I have an anticancer drug,' would you use it?" Pescatore said, referring to the Food and Drug Administration.

If my neighbor was a pharmacist and knew what he was talking about, I might very well!

In this case, eEye is a company specializing in security. I would trust them to use a temporary patch until Microsoft got off it's fat A$$ and patched Windows themselves!

You know, it's statements like this that is pushing me further and further toward Apple and away from Windows. I don't use Internet Exploiter, but if I did, I would gladly apply eEye's patch to fix the problem. I can't believe that Microsoft doesn't consider this security hole to be severe enough to patch immediately.

One day, some Microsoft employee is going to have his computer hacked because of the security holes. Then we will start seeing more Windows source code online.

That is the month that Microsoft will begin to try harder.
