I had a hunch that (placeholder for winning team) would win.

Funny story, but one that belongs in Sports, not Technology.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. In theory, it was Amazon.com who caused this story. Thus, seems more tech to me. It could, however, swing both ways.

You could argue that. In my opinion, it's not the source of the story that determines its category. It's the content. Is this story about email? Not really. It's more about someone mistakenly congratulating the wrong basketball team for the win. The medium is of little consequence. If the New York Times had mistakenly published in their paper that UCLA won, the story would be pretty much the same, yet it wouldn't likely be listed under technology.

If there were more information in the article about how email technology contributed to the mistake, then the technology category would be more appropriate. I don't mean to complain. Just sharing my opinion. :)

And now it's under "Odd News", where it truly belongs. :D
