Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

What? A rapper got shot? And in Detroit?

        Is this a joke?

@JasonMM - Have you ever been to Detroit? It isn't a bad place, and rappers are not getting shot there everyday.

It is a shame this happened, but unfortunately there are people getting shot in every major city in the world, you shouldn't make light of it because he was a rapper and because it was in Detroit.

Agreed. Proof being a rapper should have no relevance to this story making the news or not.

I hear you... but if he wasn't a rapper and just a random person, do you honestly think it would be national news? I mean, I live in pittsburgh and you don't hear local pittsburgh bad stuff on the national news... I don't know.

The fact that he's a rapper is exactly why you should make light of it. They glorify the "thug life" to get rich (at least temporarily rich). Royal Oak isn't bad.

It's unfortunate that the death of someone can be excused by his profession. Last I checked, being in the entertainment industry did not mean that your life was worth less than the average person. Sure, rap music "glorifies" thug life, but would excuse the execution of Al Pachino because of his previous acting gigs?

              Well said.

The death of any celebrity would make the news. Not being natural causes, even more newsworthy. I'm sad to see Proof be yet another victim of what is likely to be a hip hop feud.

D12's albums are, despite riding on Eminem

The fact that anyone would take the time out of their day just to make light of anyone's death, regardless of it is a rapper or not is a sad reflection of those persons...

It is a sad and, unfortunately, somewhat accurate stereotype that many talented guys who manage even a moderate amount of success, meet their demise at the hands of some coward whose first impulse is to pull a gun out when someone looks at him stoopid.

I think it is true that the subject matter alot of guys and even some chicks rap about perpetuates this drama, but i don't think it makes it anymore right to "make light" - of someone's death no less...

Actually you're right. This story reminds me a lot of what happened to John Lennon. It's quite uncanny.
