Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Actions like this being described as self defense makes supporting the Palestinian's in their right to democracy and freedom of movement in their own land virtually impossible.

Attacking civilians is absolutely not on. All it does is give ammunition to the "blow them all away" brigade who stomp around swatting wasps with helicopter gun-ships.

I have to trust that these are not actions supported in any way shape or form by the majority of Palestinian people.

Without going to the "blow them away" extreme, I would say that any nation that publicly claims to be against the perpetuation of acts of terror has absolutely no excuse for providing so much as a penny of financial support to the Palestinian Authority.

Under Arafat, the PA was corrupt and "misplaced" most of the billions of dollars in aid provided by the US and EU. The governments providing the aid never demanded accountability for the lack of infrastructure built with the funds, and the Palestinian people suffered for it. In response, they elected a party that campaigned on a platform of eliminating Israel and building schools where children would be taught to hate Israel.

A government without money cannot be effective. It's time to unleash the non-military wrath of the west on Hamas. Cut off their foreign aid. Freeze their assets held overseas. Refuse to grant free passage to their emissaries without putting them on trial in international courts. There are ways to play hardball without using military might.

People say it's unfair when Israel closes border crossings into Gaza, cutting off workers from their jobs, but that is precisely the sort of economic warfare that is called for in this case.

The Palestinians new Hamas leaders called the attack a legitimate response to Israeli "aggression."

Worst PR ever. This guy is out of his mind. It amazes me that the actions of a few ruin the dreams of an entire population.

We must fix poverty and education in Palestine once in for all. Unless we tell these kids that blowing yourself up in your mid-20s is NOT the way to go, this @!$%# is going to go on forever. I am sick of the exploitation of religion used by fanatics. They get these kids to do whatever, since they have no future and nowhere to go back to.

Despicable.

The new Palestinian government, led by Hamas, called the attack a legitimate response to Israeli "aggression."

I think a legitimate response to this remark would be to drop bombs on the new Palestinian government.
