the school shouldnt be able to assign a jesus drawing project.
BUT
the school shouldnt be able to cencor a project where they asked the kids to be creative and decided that they didnt like that creativity(as long as it doesnt break established rules)
I do not though have a problem.. if the school said specifically.. draw a conservation poster but do not use any religious references in it. This could be argued as a "challenge" rather than cencorship.
Last since the evironment is a contravercial issue.. even though i think the non enviromentalist are nuts.. if you require a child to make a save the enviroment poster when he either doesnt believe it needs saving or religiously believes there is no reason to.. then he shouyd be able to attach a disclaimer but should still have to do the project.
