That's the same with pretty much every modern console. The money isn't in the machine, it's in the games.
If I want a gaming machine I'll buy the Nintendo Wii. The PS3 looks like being too expensive to be a huge seller and puts it out of the reach of some of it's PSone and PS2 customer base. PS3 is a home entertainment system, it's not really a gaming machine in the true sense of the phrase. That is why Nintendo and Microsoft will close the gap on Sony in a very big way over the next 2 years.
