COURT RULING: The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that a proposal for a constitutional amendment to ban future same-sex marriages can be placed on the ballot, if approved by the Legislature.
WHAT IT MEANS: The ruling rejects a challenge by gay-marriage supporters, who had said the question violated the state constitution.
WHAT'S NEXT: The amendment would need to win approval from 50 legislators in two consecutive sessions before it could be placed on the 2008 ballot.
Don't know why, but I can't seem to pull up the article. Somebody help?

(sorry, newsvine is stupid about new users adding live links so I had to fake it)
So, does anyone actually think that the 76% of Georgians who voted for the ammendment didn't intend to ammend their state constitution? How can a constitutional ammendment be declared unconstitutional? Whether you agree with this particular decision or not, radical judges are seriously hurting this country and need to be stopped.
How can a constitutional ammendment be declared unconstitutional?
If the state constitution has a rule against multiple subject ballot measures, and there is a multiple subject ballot measure, that measure is by definition not constitutional.
Thanks, I got it now!
