A black bear clings to a backyard tree in West Milford, N.J., Sunday, June 4, 2006. Jack, a 15-pound orange-and-white cat, chased the bear up another nearby tree after it climbed down from the one it first was in. Neighbor Suzanne Giovanetti thought Jack was simply looking up at the bear, but soon realized the much larger animal was afraid of the hissing cat. The cat's owners called it away and the bear ran off. (AP Photo/Suzanne Giovanetti)

I just clicked on the "bear" tag and there's a whole page of bear stories!! It looks like Stephen Colbert's worst nightmare. BTW, that's one bad cat.

Cats rule! My own cat, Gonzo, says, "So what's the big deal? Doesn't everyone know? You don't mess with a cat. It's our world - not yours." (I'd best feed her soon - I'm in fear for my life!)

an awfully wimpy bear apparently.. or making the cat feel all powerful so he can have the element of surprise when he needs a meal to tide him over Hibernation.. Let's see probaly close to 100 lb bear versus 15 lb cat.. no contest.. 1 slap would probaly mortally wound the cat..

Maybe not such a positive news story if you're a bear. :-)
