What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Where is the oversight?!? Why is there no mention of this in the MSM? The big news today, 5 days after the event, is Mel Gibson... WTF?!?

As my Dad liked to say (who was a number cruncher in the oil industry) ... There are lies, big lies and then statistics.

I am COMPLETELY shocked by this news. And I totally agree with the previous comment. As a freelance journalist and a student at Medill, I am shocked that the news organizations which are supposed to be servicing the public interest (ie, the small businesses getting shafted by this "error") are not reporting this government foul-up. All I can say is that I hope the next generation, myself included, have more integrity than current professionals and politicians. The government has gotten so corrupt it seems like the journalists have just given up. And experts call my generation apathetic...

If only this were the biggest problem we faced with this administration!

Haha, if you are surprised by this, you have a LOT to learn.
Like for example, the federal reserve is unconstitutional, and the publics #1 enemy. 9/11 was an inside job. The worst genocide and crime against humanity ever is happening right now, manufactured in America, and paid for by the world, Depleted Uranium is what i'm talking about, look it up sometime. The American people are the single most brainwashed populace in the history of the world. Journalists haven't given up, they are completely corrupted, or too stupid to see through all the propaganda around them.

"Journalists haven't given up, they are completely corrupted, or too stupid to see through all the

            propaganda around them."

And scared witless. Perhaps more than a journalist's career is at stake. It wouldn't shock me if I

discovered that people who open their mouths to speak the truth are being threatened with the

loss of their jobs and maybe their lives. It sounds too surreal, I know. We've all grown up

believing that America is great, generous to a fault, a paragon of goodness and a bright shining

light of democracy. I doubt it was ever that wonderful but certainly now it is sinking fast into a

fascist state. Not many people in the world wanted to believe what was happening in Germany

prior to the Second World War, and certainly nobody could have believed that the Germans would

systematically murder over 6 million people. It always starts small and then it's too late to do

anything about it. Is it time for a revolution? Yes, I believe it is. But who wants to get involved?

We're too comfortable, lulled into a coma of false security by propaganda and commercial

advertising that keeps up our demand for goods, thus we are are unable to see what is really

happening behind the scenes. Let's face it: nobody really wants to know, and that's how Hitler

won and the world was plunged into darkness. At least one senator is fighting back, taking Bush

to court. But is that enough? And BTW, has anyone noticed how Senator McCain has changed

lately? Seems like they bought him off; you don't hear him talking about campaign reform, or

anything like that. The last time I saw him he appeared on the Daily Show. Jon Stewart made

fun of him because he had joined an evangelical church. Does that sound slightly suspicious?

            Mike.

You think this wasn't covered in the mainstream news media? Check the byline: an AP writer. You don't get more mainstream than that.
Don't succomb to the administration's plan to discredit major news media. I wouldn't be surprised if the "small business" designation was planted just to embarrass the NYT, etc. Wake up, guys. Journalists are not in on the conspiracy. The Bushies have just figured out a more effective, insidious way to combat them.
