Israel Resumes Strikes in Beirut Suburbs

Israeli soldiers take position as they prepare to enter Lebanon from northern Israel Wednesday Aug. 2, 2006. Israel launched its deepest ground strike into Lebanon on Wednesday, claiming it killed 10 Hezbollah guerrillas and captured five in the northeastern city of Baalbek, while nearby air raids killed at least 15 civilians. Hooray for unnecessary violence!

This violence is very necessary! No violence, no peace!
Go Israel! Make Hezbollah pay! Don't quit, don't stop, roll through and win your peace. All negotions is just an excuse to allow Hezbollah to resupply and change strategies.
Make them say uncle and throw them out of Lebanon.

Palestine in the making. You heard it here folks. Another ghetto country created with the help of unconstrained aggression.
Whatever your religion is, displacing 800,000 people, killing 900 people, Billions of dollars lost in revenue, tens of thousand of foreigners kicked out of the country, tens of thousand of overseas workers kicked out of the country (you should know that overseas workers left their countries because they had no life there), hundreds of millions lost in infrastructure damages, etc... for the return of 2 soldiers, etc... is wrong.
Just like in all wars, the greatest losers are the poor.

Who keeps them poor? Lebanon, and the whole Arab way of life.
The UN and Lebanon were supposed to keep Hezbollah out so this would not happen. Israel just isn't doing this for 2 soldiers, although to them it IS that important. They are doing it so that no other soldiers ever get taken again, and so the rockets never rain down upon them.
You seem to ignore that while Israel target missile launching sites, Hezbollah targets the center of Israeli towns, with no specific target. They fire from behind women and children, and maybe kill some themselves just to blame it on Israel. Where is your outcry over their acts?
Hezbollah is the arm of Iran, and does not belong there. They were ordered out by the UN, and Lebanon let them into their politics, because they bribe really well. The poor in Southern Lebanon know who Hezbollah is, why they are there, and agree with the mission. Many are the families of the Hezbollah "soldiers who have no uniform, except civilian clothes". They are all Hezbollah in that area (no uniform = uniform).
Don't worry about the poor. Worry about if Israel starts receiving major attacks. They will take on everyone and destroy entire countries. Let them clean house and achieve peace by pummeling their enemies into the dirt (as it should be).

Does this mean that our poor in the US have no one else to blame but the US and the US way of life?

How long have we been in Iraq and how many billions have we spent to get rid of the kidnappings, bombings, etc... ?
Do you think Israels grand exercise of power would actually do that?
This action is a short term solution that will exacerbate a long term negative effect.
For the record: Both Israel and Hezbollah are wrong. My solution for this is for us to stop supporting any party and force them both to accept a solution they both have no say in.

Exactly! The opportunities in the US are open to the US people. The opportunities in Lebanon are open to the Lebanese! You DO get it!
How long have we been in Iraq and how many billions have we spent to get rid of the kidnappings, bombings, etc... ?
Exactly! Israel does it much BETTER than we ever could! Mostly, because they don't have to worry about onlookers, critics and Monday morning quarterbacks.
Do you think Israels grand exercise of power would actually do that?
Exactly, you just watch and see. They will have a safe Lebanon
This action is a short term solution that will exacerbate a long term negative effect.
Why doesn't Egypt bother Israel anymore? You might want to check into it .....

Do you always abandon your friends this way, when adversity comes around? Israel is defending itself. I repeat the above statement, that you glossed over.

mrcg- I don't abandon my friends, I tell them if they are wrong.
Looking at your post, I see that we either have a completely different way of looking at things or else you were being sarcastic.
I have a question or 2 for you.
1. Do you believe that viewpoints are dependent on experience and that other viewpoints may be just as valid as your own?
2. Are you open minded enough to understand the other viewpoint and just disagree with it?
I am not open-minded toward any lunatic pointing a gun at my head!
Are you?!?
Would you ask yourself "What could possibly bring him to this terrible point? The poor man!!"
Or would you defend yourself any way you could, all the while while praying for a police officer to come on scene and blow his @#$%^%*ing head off????
No his "viewpoint" is NOT as valid as mine! ................"Evil is as evil does, sir!" .........
.....relativist! ......

A direct reply,
1. Do you believe that viewpoints are dependent on experience and that other viewpoints may be just as valid as your own?
There are a lot of viewpoints from a lot of others, and I believe that they all believe in their words, I'm sure that you do. Valid? Why not?
2. Are you open minded enough to understand the other viewpoint and just disagree with it?
In general, I can and do.
However, all of this should have been worked out and the criticism thrown around before bullets started flying. Now that they are flying, critics should wait until both sides stand down or victory is achieved.
This included Iraq. Remember Shock and Awe? Hey Saddam! Here it comes! Were you shocked after CNN, MSNBC, CBS, and the NYT told you about it? How many of our troops died from that bile.
