Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Lebanon has been unable for nearly two years to implement a previous U.N. resolution calling for disarmament of the Shiite militants.

What good is another UN resolution? They are ignored by Arabs the world over. This UN call for a cease fire should tell anyone paying attention that it is, in fact, a plea to save Hezbollah for another fight, another day. No, its time to dismantle Hezbollah now.

If Israel was losing this fight, do you think the UN would be calling for a cease fire? Why are they not calling for a cessation in hostilities in Iraq? The answer is clear. In Lebanon they are trying to spare Hezbollah. In Iraq, they want to see as much damage as possible inflicted on Allied troops.

I agree, the Arab world has ignored the U.N. (worlds voice) countless times in the past.

Unfortunately the U.N. has no teeth, or the stones to stand up for what it believes is right, they'll leave that to Israel or the United States yet again - only to complain about Israel's methods.

United Nothing.

And sometimes we wonder why the U.S. is the "police" force of the world, sheesh. It's simple, it's because we ask them too. Our police force (the U.N.) is impotent.
