Once they start sending you a bill, they tack on whatever extra charges they can, because they "have to". I really like how Verizon wasn't going to give up this revenue. They just relabeled the charge to please the FCC. Lays bare how telcos really bill you.

I get Bellsouth DSL. I'll be looking to see if my bill goes down. I expect Bellsouth to do the same thing Verizon did.

I was talking to a cable operator when this story popped. I had made up my mind to take my business elsewhere. I guess its wait and see now.

Well, I have BellSouth DLS myself, and I will wait to see if indeed my bill goes down. But I doubt I
will hold my breath meantime.
