Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Once they start sending you a bill, they tack on whatever extra charges they can, because they "have to". I really like how Verizon wasn't going to give up this revenue. They just relabeled the charge to please the FCC. Lays bare how telcos really bill you.

I get Bellsouth DSL. I'll be looking to see if my bill goes down. I expect Bellsouth to do the same thing Verizon did.

...only to bring it back after the AT&T Merger.

We're boned.

I was talking to a cable operator when this story popped. I had made up my mind to take my business elsewhere. I guess its wait and see now.

Well, I have BellSouth DLS myself, and I will wait to see if indeed my bill goes down. But I doubt I
will hold my breath meantime.
