This is an interesting partnership. I had previously thought that eBay were anti Google, given that Google has recently released Gbuy and also has Google Talk which is a competetior to Skpe. It would be interesting to see the exact details behind this deal and just what it does mean for eBay.
Maybe eBay will become a Google company?

In my experience in the Internet space it has always been common for Internet and technology companies that are competitors to do business with each other 'co-op-itition'. In this case they've got a good fit and the combination make for a formidable offering.
#2 - Wed Aug 30, 2006 8:32 AM EDTI personally think Google has no or little intention of any form of deeper relationship such as buy or merger. Rather this is probably a move to maximize potential and learn from each other. I feel Google is the winner here and has more to gain from this cooperation in the long run.
