Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I think this is a great idea for new artists to get their names out and get their music on to people's MP3's legally in the U.S. There are many great local bands here in Edmonton, but not much of a voice outside the city. I hope this helps new artists get their name out and make a few bucks too.

Thankfully I'm in Canada and can just download legally for free. LOL.

Glad to see that they aren't embracing DRM - hopefully they understand that would make it into a poison pill for most people. Hopefully they'll bring their service to market with MP3 as the distribution format, god knows I can't stand most of the run-of-the-mill indie @!$%#e which populates the majority of MySpace Music's pages, but for the few quality artists who represent theirselves on there, having their tracks in MP3 would make me consider purchasing them way more than if they were DRMed. 1 kudos point for MySpace.

I want to know what SnoCap and MySpace are planning to do regarding protecting the independent musicians music? Specifically, how do they plan to keep users from stealing the music already there. Their flash player does little in the way of maintaining a secure stream.
