Hmmm... I need a pay raise...
Shares of Apple were trading down 55 cents at $70.93 on the Nasdaq.
And have since risen to $0.10 cents up at $71.58. *rejoice* \o/
Hah! I knew this would happen (always does...) I bought my 20-inch Core Duo in April. But, I needed a computer *then*, so no worries. Plus, it's still a very nice machine!
I like that they've added a FireWire 800 port on the 24" model. Would have been nice to add that to the 20" as well. But what I still want to see is external SATA port(s)!
Also note the new video card options on the 24":
* NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics processor with 128MB of GDDR3 SDRAM using PCI Express
or
* NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT graphics processor with 256MB of GDDR3 SDRAM using PCI Express
The 24" screen is also much brighter than the already bright 20": 400 cd/m vs. 280 cd/m
Just noticed both the 20" and 24" are now upgradeable to 3GB RAM instead of the previous 2GB...Nice.
Where's MacBook and MacBook Pro CPU upgrades?
One, and only sometimes two product lines at a time, never three, certainly not four.
Patience, young padawan ;)
Sept 12th maybe
..by January 2006 the company unveiled two Intel-based computers — an iMac and a new laptop — that were based on Intel's Core Solo processor.
Oops, I'll bet they mean Core Duo processor.
The only Intel Mac to have a Core Solo was the cheapest Mac mini, and as of today, even the cheapest mini gets Core Duo.
Core 2 Duo in the iMacs is hot, though, not to mention that 24" screen!
Nice.
iTunes Movies + 24" iMac = desktop theater. wow! (of course, the iTunes Movies are just rumors right now...)
