Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

These are our enemies. Take a close look.

This is what bad guys do. Remember this the next time you see a confrontation with bad guys. This is the evil under-handed things that bad guys always do.

Don't kid youself into thinking that any country or any side is protected from this kind of skull-duggery.

Explain to me how shoving a cell phone up your ass is evil. It's most likely uncomfortable, it's probably against the prison rules, but if you think it's evil, warn me before I jaywalk when you're around.

FL: Now I understand. Once you have decided someone is evil, then anything they do is evil. So if they eat dinner, that is an evil act, since they are only doing it in order to continue doing evil.

I'm glad you cleared that up.

Jimmy: WTH are you talking about? Your comparison and conclusion are nonsensical If people behave in a manner that is consistent with what I find to be evil, yes I call them evil. If they take steps to continue those ways and others, then yes again, I will find it evil.

Let me spell it out for you. Eating dinner - not evil, unless you murdered someone and are eating them. Smuggling cellphones in your butt so you can contact your "boys" to order hits, get reports on drug running, prostitution rings, crack houses, and other illegal and destructive activities - evil.

Also I should clarify, the act of smuggling the cellphone in your butt is not evil, but his intentions are.

The same with your example. It is just a meeting, the fact they are eating dinner during the meeting is irrelevent. Evil intentions, evil guy. The whole cellphone thing just shows an example of how far he is willing to go to allow him to continue to do evil.

And yes it is funny at the same time. And you know he had to do some test runs to see how it would work, feel, etc.

Now that's dedication to a cause when you're willing to shove a phone charger up there. I hope it was at least a newer charger instead of one of those blocky adapters.

What the hell are they gonna do with those phones? @!$%# them out and start making some calls? What if they can't get them out? Are they going to try dialing through their abdomens and yell real loud? "Hey! Amigo! It's me! Yeah, no, I'm totally constipated! The damn thing won't come out! I'm going to break away during the outdoor recess time! Can you hear me? Huh? What? Can you hear me now?"

I'm even more curious about the prison officials who got suspicious. So, see them, a couple of guards at a Mexican prison, sweaty and bored, and one says to the other, "That one looks like he's gonna @!$%# himself a Christmas goose," and the other one says, "You think he stuck a cell phone up his ass in a plastic bag before he came in here?" Then they laugh for a while, and look at each other all serious-like. "Let's get these boys to x-ray!"

In all seriousness, though. What are they going to do with cell phones in prison? Talk to their fellow non-incarcerated dangerous gang members and continue business? Likely, sure. It just seems so incredibly radical and desperate!

Maybe you just dont realize what truly evil people are willing to do to continue their desires of control and to do bad things.

Now imagine someone who does this and more because they believe they are following gods will and they will be eternally rewarded for it. Now you are beginning to see the mindset of islamic terrorists.

I think most people in the world, including many Americans, just think the idea of such religious fervor and, well, insanity, is so bizarre and crazy that it couldnt possibly be true. I mean, this is 2006. But it is very true and people need to realize it.

Whoa there, nelly. These are members of a dangerous gang in Mexico. They aren't terrorists. There's four hundred other places on Newsvine we can wring our hands about the "islamic terrorists." Right now, we're getting our jollies poking fun at some idiots who, all in the name of business, have rammed cell phones up their asses to sneak them into prison. I'm not sure they did the ramming in the name of any "religious fervor." I'm pretty sure they were concerned about some dope deals and maybe a murder or two. For pete's sake.

I'm not even going to call these guys "truly evil." Stupid, yes. For many, many reasons. "Truly evil?" Ahhh, no.

I believe these were just the sorts of situations the Motorola PEBL was designed for.

Possibly significant sidenote: Newsvine employees Tom and Lance both recently purchased PEBLs.

I suppose they could always release a new line:

                  The POOPR

PEBLs flip open pretty easy -- I have to imagine they go for something that has no risk of unfolding itself during storage.

Call him and find out, 555-5555.

Don't forget, if you're making an international call from the U.S. you have to dial 555-555 first.

I was sure someone would have said this before now....

"Dude, there's some @!$%# on the phone for you."

                        He made me say it.

My keyboard typed that alllllll by itself.

                        The dog typed that.

Pick any of the above as excuses for that showing up under my screen name.

                        Arrr
