What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Will it have 'Live Anywhere' compatibility though?
I want to be able to check my friends XBL Gamerscore's from anywhere at anytime.

man. that thing is big and ugly. some people just don't "get it" when it comes to design.

It's made by Microsoft what do you expect? They wouldn't know design or usability if it bit them in the rear. Just look at their sad operating system.

Personally, I'm excited about this device

I LOVE how the apple guys are scared to the point of citing bad design and usability well before they'll be able to get their hands on one (see above posts) - makes this an even more exciting prospect!

Thanks for the endorsement guys! :)

It looks pretty slick. I might buy it. I already filled my 30 gig iPod, might as well get another one.

Huge double-wide double YAWN. Let me see... given MS's track record, it'll be slow, buggy, marginally usable, fugly, and "security challenged." Plus the inside word is that the battery life when in wireless mode will be sub-2 hours, at best. It's beyond me why anyone would even think of wasting their money on this dog when there are alternatives that are light-years ahead of it.

The bigger question is why MS is so obsessed with becoming a (money-losing) consumer electronics company when selling monolithic office systems to enterprises has been so good to their bottom line up till now. Office and Windows are the franchises that have made them scads o' cash (x-box has lost them billions, btw). Why the obsession with the consumer space? They've never given serious thought to actually making technology that non-business people might find useful (remember Microsoft Bob, anyone? or Windows ME? or XP home? or [fill in blank with dumbed-down versions of Vista]? Why the obsession with competing with the Sonys and Apples of the world when their money-making talents clearly lie elsewhere?

Well actually this is a Toshiba Gigabeat, sort of.

It's being made by Toshiba, so the only MS-thing about it is the logo (if it's going to be there, it's probably on the back).

The Gigabeat has got very nice reviews.
