Notably, violent reactions to the Pope's remarks have not been limited to Catholics. There are a variety of Christian denominations in the Middle East, mostly Coptic (Eastern Orthodox), who do not recognize the Pope as a church leader. Yet these Christians have been targeted just the same. Those responsible for the violence (and they are not all Muslims, all Arabs, or all whatever) are not merely offended, but bigots as well. And I do wonder if Muslim clerics are being appropriately responsive to the needs of their communities at this time.
