Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Goodness. Catching Willie with weed is like catching a fat kid with a candy bar.

    Move along.

I strongly believe that pot (and all drugs) should be legal. However, if the cops -- anywhere in this country -- pulled over a car/van/truck with three or four black men and a pound and a half of weed, the DEA would declare it as a major drug bust and those guys wouldn't see the light of day for years. It never surprises me, but it does sadden me, that we have a separate criminal justice system for whites/blacks and rich/poor.

p.s. I don't believe pot should be legal. I'm for banning cigarettes too.

JoeGrinD: I'm curious why you are interested in banning cigarettes. I believe that it's my life to do whatever I want with; if that means I want to be a drug addict, or ruin my lungs, well that's my choice. In fact, the ultimate freedom is to be mediocre. Would you support a government that dictates every facet of your life? Would you support a government that forced you to eat XYZ because it's healthier? It's never been -- nor should it ever be -- the government's job to "protect" people from themselves. So long as I'm not hurting anyone else with my actions (let's say for this argument, I only smoke at home, alone), why should I let anyone dictate my behavior? That's the opposite of freedom. Live and let live and leave me the @!$%# alone is my motto.

@enigma - I think that Marijuana should definitely be legal. And I absolutely do not believe that we should ban cigarettes. As you say - it's your choice. However - I believe that if you want to smoke - since it does affect those around you - that you should have limited places to do it.

@Enigma: I personally believe they should be banned because they not only harm the smoker but those non-smokers who may forced to be around the smoker (like children of smokers or even something as simple as walking down the street and someone exhaling in general area.).

If there was a way that smokers would only kill themselves then I wouldn't have a problem with it, but that is not the case.

Also, quoting you - "So long as I'm not hurting anyone else with my actions (let's say for this argument, I only smoke at home, alone)"

I bet most smokers don't only smoke at home, alone. That is the point of my argument.

Also cited were Tony Sizemore, 59, of St. Cloud, Fla.; Bobbie Nelson, 75, of Briarcliff, Texas; Gates Moore, 54, of Austin, Texas; and David Anderson, 50, of Dallas.

You can tell they are all career criminals or would that be criminals with a career? Maybe he can just set up shop in Amsterdam and let the fans come to him.
