Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I guess you really can't argue with a Cousteau...

I suspect that Cousteau echoes what many naturalist felt ... its just takes a 'Frenchman' to come out and say it while the world mourns an Animal Planet icon.

With all due respect (a lot), "You don't touch nature?" What? I assume he knows what nature is. You know, everything? How do you *not* touch nature?

Is he saying don't touch animals that can kill you? Well, duh. Most people learn that one at a very early age. Some people choose to do things that are dangerous, for whatever reason. Some do it because they are Darwin Award candidates, some because they feel it's necessary.

My hope is that what he said was actually in French and was poorly translated, because to say that no one should touch nature is just silly.

They really need to start editing these wires. That's the 3rd or 4th than/that typo I've seen this month.

He is correct-very correct! Irwin came over the top of the stingray and it got him.He was a very good man and much admired but he got himself too close to the fire this time and he got burned. This is why so many of his own people[Aussies] were at odds with and his approach to wildlife. With that being said he was still loved the world over and will be missed.
