I don't think anyone ever questioned whether they would sell millions. The difference between 10 million and 100 million is massive though. I don't think they'll sell a lot of systems until it is in the $200 range though.

They need to make 10 million units before they can sell 10 million units. It's going to be a while before they hit that mark.

I'm not buying one until it's clear they won't have typical Sony reliability issues. Nothing worse than being an early adopter stuck with a bad unit and zero hope of getting a replacement until 2007. To be fair, the same problem faced 360 buyers last year.

No matter who makes the console, it's risky paying hundreds of dollars to make yourself part of a giant public beta test. I'll let other people do that and decide what I want to do in six or eight months. The games will still be there.

I've never really been an early adopter when it comes to gaming consoles and I think it's probably wise to hold off a while and wait to see what the uptake and the feedback is like before buying one. I remember the first XBox had problems with the disc drive scratching the discs, problems like that are always prone to happen in the first batch.

I just hope Sony haven't taken any shortcuts when it comes to developing these to meet their floating deadlines.

Oh boy, the ps2 had as many if not more problems then the xbox.

Those 100 million playstions sold are inflated. More than 75 percent were bought because the initial 25 percent were to dumb to realize they could've fixed their ps2 without having to by 3 more.

I think the Wii is going to kill the PS3 -- it's cheaper, got the new controller and is aimed towards all ages. The PS3 doesn't seem to bring much extra to the table than enhanced graphics and some "motion" controller.
