Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

It was a beautiful day to be out running, though, and if that is what Seyford enjoyed doing then perhaps his family and friends can take some solace in that. My wife and I were sad to learn about him, though.

The day was cool and windy, but like I said, very beautiful. Getting to see the nations capitol on foot with 34,000 other runners is really something amazing and I know I'll remember it forever. It was also moving to know that members of the military overseas would be running the same distance with us, but many in far worse conditions. That really kept me motivated throughout the course. Having a finishers medal placed around my neck at the end of the course was both elevating and humbling. Both my wife and I decided that it was somewhat silly for a US Marine to be putting a medal on us.

I'm really surprised at the the relatively slow winning times. Now,I'm not saying that I could get anywhere near those time (I finished in nearly twice the time as the overall winner). However, those are far from records, particularly the women's winner. However, they won all the same and I still think they deserve a lot of credit for running an amazing race.
