Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

That photo is reminiscent of Minipax or Minitrue for me.

Also, I worry what this will do for the gay rights movement. This will just look like a willful heathen out to seduce a man from God; if the press is really ruthless, well, it will only make gay rights look bad. Remember, evangelicals don't believe in homosexuals as an lifetime orientation via genetic and sometimes social triggers (e.g. you're not going to out yourself if it could get you killed, no matter how long you've had these feelings unbidden), but as acts, or sins, like lying. You can lie once and not be a liar--but it's the recurring practice, the complete knowledge it's wrong (lying) and doing it over. They see homosexuality the same way. In fact, I once heard a Baptist minister saying "We don't hate gay people, they just should never have the sex they want to have."

How can revealing evidence that may expose Haggard do anything but make the gay community as a whole look like they're picking on him?

That's so twisted - I didn't know. But Olivetti, on your last point, it's only going to look like that to the Evangelicals, right and the gay rights movement probably has no traction in that group regardless.

Assuming there will be convincing evidence, I have a question...why should we continue to allow these "religions" to continue to be tax exempt? Many are doing it for these kinds of self-indulgent hedonistic or political purposes.

True. Until religion removes itself from politics, it should get taxed.

    Off topic, but important.

I would much rather have some evil churches be tax exempt than give the gov't the opportunity to intrude into spiritual communites at all.

Of course there could be lines...like if a Church goes door-to-door stumping for a candidate.

I saw him responding to questions tonight about the drugs and sex.

      He registered a 37 on my standard 1-10 creep-o-meter.

He broke it and I want a new one.

I always buy disposable creep-o-meters at election time.
