She should have thought of that when she pissed all over the Constitution in Bush v. Gore. It's a little late now.

ahh so once you make a mistake, you lose the rights to complain about any consequences of that mistake or to try to wake people up to a problem they may not have known about.

I mean i guess she could say i misinterepted the law when i allowed Bush to assume the post of presidency but now i think it has caused great harm to our country and he and his admin and basically the entire far right are trying to destroy the judiciary.. DO you really think that would make her claims more accepted.

OH yes lets let our supreme courts die because they made a bad rulling int he 2000 election.. yeah screw it we had a nice run, we dont need the protection fo threee branches of government.. we can get by with just two.

I'm no lover of the Bush, but if Gore hadn't of wanted to stack the deck in his favor by only wanting a recount of specific districts favorable to him, then the outcome of Bush v. Gore might have been different. Bush v. Gore wasn't O'Connor's fault. It was Gore's lawyer's crappy legal advice.

Bull@!$%#. If Bush hadn't challenged the original count, if he had left it at the four counties Gore wanted recounted, then he would have won, fair and square. But he challenged the perfectly legal recount in the Florida courts, and the Florida Supreme Court ruled that the only true way to decide the election was a full recount of the entire state. A full count would have shown that Gore was the winner.

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida_election_recount

But then Bush ran to his Daddy's court, got a ruling to halt the recount, then got a ruling that there wasn't enough time left to finish it.

The original recount request never entered into the Supreme Court's decision at all.

        timeline

Incidentally, it was Joe "It's All About Me" Lieberman's idea to limit the recount to 4 counties. It was also his idea to allow the illegal late and undated absentee ballots to be counted.
