A mouse and Google mousepad are shown at Google's New York office in this Friday, Oct. 27, 2006 file photo. Google Inc. plans to start selling advertising space in 50 top newspapers, expanding the Internet search engine's efforts to provide services off the Web and making it easier for companies advertising online to also show off their products in print. Hmmm...this could be interesting. It will probably be a win-win scenario for everyone...including Google. It lets them get their hands in yet another area of the world.

And the relationship between Google and the NY Times kind of reminds you of EPIC 2014, doesn't it?

It's only a matter of time before Google branded pets.

I wish Google would stop buying new stuff. They're starting to seem way too big now.

This is not really something new, but Google expanding its existing products.

That's what I mean. They keep expanding their products and using their ever increasing buying power to do so. I'm probably a bit paranoid and I do like Google, but I don't like it when companies become too powerful.

I'm wondering if this will have a positive effect on the declining sales of newspapers as is stated. Maybe at first people will buy the papers to see the "Google ads" for the novelty. But after a while that'll probably wear off.

I thought it meant sales of advertising space, but reading back I'm not sure which they mean.

I don't think seeing Google ads in papers will make people buy papers.

When you snooze, you lose. Newsvine needs to join in this effort if it is not too late. Some day soon all local news will be on the internet and the advertising will go with it.

I hear an excellent online News Paper for Coshocton County has just stared on Newsvine. I think we need more Local Newsvine.

I've started ones for Leeds and Yorkshire. If you're from Leeds or Yorkshire I need more writers. I could also do with some ideas on how to get more local people to start reading Newsvine. If you write, it's nice to have readers.
