N.H. to Offer Girls Free Cancer Vaccine
New Hampshire announced plans Wednesday, November 29, 2006 to become the first state to offer the new cervical-cancer vaccine free to all girls. Beginning in January, the vaccine against the human papilloma virus, or HPV, will be provided to girls ages 11 through 18 as part of a state program that offers various immunizations to children at no cost. Why aren't they providing it for boys as well?
Good start, though.
This is great; they're finally implementing this vaccine. New Hampshire is a start, but this should be mandatory through all the country, but sadly I think there is some protest from a few religious groups. We have to protect our children form this!
