Rick Schroder Joins Cast of 24

advertisement

Ricky Schroder, of "Silver Spoons" fame, will join the cast of 24 for the show's 6th season. He'll be playing a CTU Agent who, presumably, helps out Jack Bauer. But, you never know. He could be a mole, or just a big jerk. Given Schroder's pedigree, I'd bet that he plays a stand-up guy. However, 24 has been good about playing actors against type.

Ricky (or as he likes to be called these days, "Rick") has led a pretty interesting career. First "Silver Spoons" (with the great Alfonso Ribeiro), then a stint on "NYPD Blue", then a few guest starring roles here and there (Scrubs). This addition of Schroder only adds to the impressive list of cast members for the 6th season of 24. Here is a partial list of that cast and what I consider to be their claim to fame.Peter MacNicol: As the creepy bad guy in "Ghostbusters 2".

Powers Boothe: Cy Tolliver in "Deadwood". Regina King: The most underrated African-American actress of her generation. She's been in everything. Look at her IMBD page.

Chad Lowe: Used to have a Sugar Mama named Hilary Swank.

James Cromwell: "That'll do, pig. That'll do."

Kal Penn: Kumar, obviously.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I still like to call him 'the Ricker' :)

Kudos to newsvine for another excellent addition to the site with buddytv.

Actually, I was just looking it up and it appears that he was a male nurse...

I vaguely recall the character but don't recall him being rick schroder at all. I may have to start buying season sets on DVD to figure this out.

:)

Even us Brits remember this guy. Silver Spoons was quite popular in it's day if I remember correctly. Every now and again you'd see Rick/Ricky pop up in some cameo role and you'd think "it's that little blond kid from Silver Spoons!"

Looking forward to Season Six, although I do have some catching up to do. I've still not watched season 4 or even bought season 5 - it's often on at inconvenient times for me to watch on the TV and I never get round to recording it.
