What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

See my piece entitled, "Why do we even care?" and you'll get an idea why so many seem to care.....I guess shallowness, escape, boredom, ignorance, wanna-be.....

escape

I think that you are onto something there. Many people enjoy focusing on something other than politics and "real news" once in a while. Probably why sports news is so popular. Same goes for video games. Everybody needs a break sometime.

I can't imagine that the only stuff anyone does or reads all day could be classified as "deep, connected, exciting, intelligent, and so on...".

G-d only knows.....much of the stuff I read on a daily basis cannot be classified as deep or connected, intelligent or exciting, butI do try to get at least some small bit of cerebral reading accomplished daily. I feel people often get too caught up in celebrity foibles -- especially women. I suppose watching them screw up allows insight into their innate human-ness.

Of course my first instinct about the first chapter of this story, the fact that someone got that she wasn't wearing panties on film. I say who cares? I think she's free to do what she wants. Now the fact that she's apologizing for something that she definitely does not need to only pours fuel on the fire. Beautifully handled Ms. Spears.

She's not free to go outside naked, as such if she's not wearing any panties she's supposed to be at least smart enough not to reveal it. If she does, she SHOULD apologize. I'm all for leaving celebrities alone, but they still have some responsibilities that come with their status. And more importantly, she's a mother now. No matter how you look at it, this incident WILL have an impact on the divorce lawsuit.

(Bah... not that I care.)

She's not free to go outside naked

She was not exactly naked. Her revealing moment was caught by the photographers as she was climbing out of a sports car in Las Vegas.

I am inclined to believe that there are more people running around Vegas without underwear than with...

right, fake news, just like how the media will latch onto one random kidnapping/murder victim and cover them for two years straight.

    i hate it all

BUT>.... she is hot... so maybe, Britney Spears can get away with it.

    The Headline was:

"BRITNEY SPEARS, STILL A MADONNA IMPERSONATOR"

But in all seriousness, she needs to be attractive again.

Does anyone else see a conflict of interests when someone is seeking both spousal support and sole custody of children? I mean, Federline is saying that he can't support himself, but the kids would be better off with him than with Britney.
