What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I guess spending time here in Florida working on something like...oh I don't know...astronomical home owners insurance rates, was too boring or something for you, thanks for making a totally pointless and fruitless trip on our dime.

I have mixed feelings about this. I have stated several times that I wish the Democrats would grow some stones. This is a perfect example of doing just that. However, I've got a deep respect for protocol. Regardless of the failed Administration's policy of no diplomatic ties to Syria and Iran, the fact is it is policy.

    Conclusion? Go infidel Nelson, go!

Awww, man. The "strike" HTML tag doesn't work. For the record, the word "infidel" above was supposed have been striken through.

How is being played for fool on an international stage "growing some stones"? Assad told him some fairy tales, Nelson is going to come home and complain that we're being unfair to his new best buddy and in the meantime Syria will keep pumping fighters into the Jihad in Iraq.

Yeah, it stinks that we can't edit our posts; I left out "a" before fool on my previous one. :-(

Being played a fool or not, directly disobeying a mandate from the administration takes some stones.

Look, this administration, and the party, has played some wild hands in this card game, and they've previously been beating the pants off the wussies across the table. The Dems have been refusing to call the administration's bluff and challenge this administration overstepping authority (Although, in the case of foreign policy, I personally would rather see that left to the White House, not this particular White House, but the White House in general). You'll loose some hands, but there is a lot at state here, so I say good for them.

Honestly, I could give a rat's petooti how it works out for him, I just like to see this administration (and any administration, but in particular this administration) challenged.

Wow I'm sorry, my mind was completely at the topic before this one. Totally contextually somewhere else. I need a nap.

I think it is time SOMEBODY did some talking. This administration certainly does not believe in diplomacy of any kind, if things keep going their way, NO country will be talking to us. The last election gave the people a chance to speak and speak they did. Unfortunately this President still refuses to listen to them. Defying the President may be the only way to get some results. If he looks long enough, he will find someone that tells him what he wants to hear. I am not looking forward to this ever delayed talk on Iraq.

What do you think can possibly be accomplished by talking with a dictatorial regime that working it's damnedest to undermine the government of 2 countries and totally destroy a 3rd? The only diplomacy needed with the chinless dictator is a sniper shot between the eyes.

That is the kind of thinking that got us where we are. This administration wants to talk to no one. Their idea of diplomacy is to bully smaller countries into doing what they want. There are dozens of dictator countries just like them throughout the world, trying to make them into democracies has never worked before, nor will it work now. A lofty goal, but completely unrealistic. You do not change them first and then sit at the table and talk.

You're right, we had concerms about Saddam Hussein for over a decade and there's absolutely no evidence that we tried to amend his behavior through the use of international bodies like the UN.

Where were the sanctions and weapons inspections Mr Bush!?!?!?!
