This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

The man could not be reached for comment at press time because he was busy tickling a midget in a tree.

I'm wondering what what through the minds of the veterinarians, frantic after unsuccessfully trying to remove the plastic with instruments.

"You know, if I just had longer arms, I could reach it!"

Then, the one vet or trainer who's notorious for being an annoying jokester, even in serious moments, says, "Heh. We should call up the World's Tallest Man. I bet his arms are long enough," as he doubles over in laughter at his own goofy joke while the rest of the people in the room roll their eyes and think, "Why won't that guy just GO AWAY?"

And then one of them, caressing the dolphin's head, looks up. "You know, that just might work."

Viki, geez... you should write fiction. I wanted the story to continue. Seriously. So what happens in the end... does it work?

    Thanks, Tony.

    And...I DO write fiction;)

Anyway, after the trainer caressing the head of the ailing dolphin utters his words, everyone in the room looked at each other. They were tired, the room was bright in their eyes, and their beloved dolphin lay, ailing, on an examination table (or, maybe, they're at the side of the dolphin pool? Where the dolphins hurl themselves up for examinations?). Sheepish, hopeful grins spread across their faces.

One shouts, "Let's go for it? Where does he live? How can we find him?"

The jokester, the man with all the bright ideas, shrugs and goes outside for a cigarette, leaving the rest of them to galvanize. One rushes to the phone, the rest of them zip around in circles like a bunch of idiots. Because, really, what are you supposed to do when a dolphin lay dying, choking on plastic, and you've just decided that the plan of attack requires you to find the tallest man in the world and ask him to shove his unusually long arm down that dolphin's throat?

What kind of animals does this guy herd? Sounds like he's a modern day Aquaman.

Aquaman only wishes his abilities were as useful as this guy's.

Sticking your arm down a dolphin's throat can't be pleasant. But good for him for using his powers for good instead of evil.

I guess now he can be a dolphin herder.

I love that the caption under the picture has to specifically identify which person is the World's Tallest Man. Why they don't bother to distinguish which one is the dolphin for us idiots, too, is anyone's guess.
