heh, well, it's always fun to laugh at crack-heads.

but, on a serious not, this is a real issue. the world of consensual "crimes" - prostitution, gambling, drug use, etc., is completely lawless, within itself. the fact that its transactions are not policed, and the civil protections provided all citizens are not applicable, is a very bad thing. the only reason that those crimes are as violent as they are (they in themselves not violent whatsoever) is because they are illegal. and so there is little or no recourse for people who have been attacked by a john, or who have been ripped off by the gambling establishment, or who have been sold a bad product (theft), leaving all recourse to the vigilantes.
