That picture never gets old.
Love photos in stories! They really enhance the experience!
she's a 10, and this is coming from a guy who prefers brunettes
The only thing we've both ever agreed on :]
She's a 10 simply because she has "USA" across her chest? She'd be more attractive if she wasn't whoring herself around and acting like a complete idiot. But what do you expect from the typical 20 year old female anyway?
The typical 20 year old woman is a whore and an idiot, then? Wow, that's a strong statement.
ignoblus,
So far, I haven't seen otherwise.
Ronald,
She's 20. She's delicious.
What did your mom do to you?
I think maybe that says more about you than about any women, including Miss Conner.
ingoblus: It says that I'm no longer naive about a majority of women.
JRO: Her beauty shouldn't excuse her from accountability. That is the problem with men today -- we excuse attractive women far too much simply because of their gender and attractiveness to us. That type of mentality will burn you, and Donald Trump will certainly wish he hadn't given this Kentucky girl another chance. I guarantee you that she'll be right back to her same old ways soon enough.
Then what?
Ronald,
Sexual attraction is life. Welcome it. Accept it. Comb you hair. Attractive women (and men) have advantage. That might seem unfair, but, it is natural and completely normal. Sure doors open for beautiful girls... so what? We are human.
La Dolce Vita... Baby!
So it's the the story of a small town girl getting caught up in the whirlwind of a big city? That's so cliched! I really was waiting for Donald Trump to say "YOU'RE FIRED!" But oh well.
Nice of him to give her a chance to not screw up again. I was expecting the same thing you were.
I'm looking forward to video of her screwing up again.
what a twist!
She is hot! I never thought I would use the word "hot" to discribe Miss America. Typically it would be either beautiful or pretty or maybe even "what were they thinking?" Too bad they didn't catch her doing a Penthouse pictorial like what's her name.
In any case, I am happy they let her keep her crown.
That's Miss USA, not Miss America.
Miss USA is sizzling! If she gets hired, can i get her number so that she can work as my secretary?
USA rules!
USA USA USA USA USA USA!
"Trump said he and Conner had met earlier Tuesday morning."
I'm guessing they didn't discuss quilting.
earlier as in 3am, his place?
Yeah and I don't see why they're getting down on her under-age drinking...she probably just threw it all up afterwards anyway.
And really, what's more All-American than under-aged drinking? I swear I know more people that don't like baseball than people who never had a drink uner 21.
I swear I know more people that don't like baseball than people who never had a drink uner 21.
I am both. (kidding, I had a beer once at a baseball game when I was 16)
Ah well, sooner or later she'll be caught partying with Hilton and Spears, and you all know where that leads...
Jesse Jackson has reportedly* contacted Miss Tamiki Nash and scheduled a boycott of trump hotels.
* = completely innacurate
I just wish Newsvine would take her bikini pic off the front page so my boss will stop giving me weird looks when he walks past my cubicle! :)
It was soooo heart warming to hear her thanking everyone for her second change. She started to cry and the whole world barfed!
Man, what a crock! It's great that we are teaching our daughters that in order to be considered beautiful all you have to do is not eat and go to parties half naked and not wear panties! (This mini rant includes the sleazy Paris and Britney, and remember you can do all that and have kids!)
You're right, Vesper. It sends the wrong message for sure.
It's not her fault she is delicious. I like her message.
It's great that we are teaching our daughters that in order to be considered beautiful all you have to do is not eat and go to parties half naked and not wear panties! (
I am not teaching my daughter that and I'm doing all I can to prevent the media from teaching her that.
Miss USA represents the state of all the girls in the USA, now, I may be wrong on this, but what she has done is representative of all females of her age and looks in the USA. I have to say, even considering taking away her crown for too much partying is rediculous.
I mean... seriously, what did she do that was not inline with what any girl of her age in the USA would not do? From what I heard, it was just too much partying, Soooo WHAT?
Soo WHAT?
And Oh, yeah, before anybody goes on and tells me that the USA is full of proper girls that would never do such a thing, I know... it's full of girls like that, but it's also full of girls that do exactly the opposite and they get glorified for it in the media as Hip, cool, etc etc etc. When did being proper loose it's cool, I don't know. This girl was just doing what everybody else did, and she is supposed to loose her crown because Little Miss USA is not supposed to do that... reminds of that Super Bowl incident, we can watch boobs on 800 channels, but a quick nipple slips and the FCC gets high and mighty on us.
Oh the Hypocracy.
I've heard, several times in the past, that "beautiful people", on the whole, have easier lives. E.g.: overall people are friendlier towards you, you get more promotions, more raises, people hold elevator doors for you, they buy you more drinks, etc... this phenomenon pervades all aspects of social interaction [apparently].
To me, this story is evidence of that phenomenon.
She tested positive for cocaine ... cocaine usage is not only illegal, it's decidedly un-Miss-American behavior ... and it's not the only thing that she's done that's un-Miss-American.
This will all be swept aside, apparently, with Trumps comment:
"Frankly, I have a lot of compassion for this young woman — she's had some problems,"
(of course profferred without any examples or evidence)
Oh yeah, big problems for Miss America ... all that pressure! So many public appearances ... having to show up on time ... and all that smiling, what a crusher. Oh, and all that pressure to not binge drink, make out with Miss Teen USA, and use cocaine ... it's no wonder she's "had some problems". Living in the Trump Towers must have been the straw that broke the camel's back... it's clearly time for compassion.
It's apparently too difficult to ask Miss America to hold it together for one lousy year, until the new Miss America is crowned. It's just too hard for that poor girl, with her "having some problems" to stay out of trouble.
One lousy year.
Garbage.
Spot on. As I mentioned earlier, there's no accountability for most attractive women. Absolutely NONE whatsoever. However, I have great respect for those that are humble, mature, and IN CONTROL of their lives!
Be that as it may man, she didn't do anything out of character for pretty women her age in that part of the world. So grounds for dethroning her for bad behaviour would be like telling a Dog that he is a dog, it just does not do anything.
Frankly, finally there is some proper representation for Miss USA.
You are right about looks discrimination, but you and I know that us guys are to blame for that, perhaps next time you see a hot thing, don't look at her, lets flip the script on them for a change.
Oh, well... who am I kidding, you and I know that this will never happen.
hi lycan:
Be that as it may man, she didn't do anything out of character for pretty women her age in that part of the world.
how come the free pass on the cocaine usage?
if you're not giving her a free pass, care to comment on that part of the story?
Frankly, finally there is some proper representation for Miss USA.
other than Vanessa Williams, who else exhibited what you're calling "proper representation" for Miss USA? can you describe what you think this "proper representation" is?
the vast, overwhelming majority of women who have been chosen as Miss USA have done a fine job, some even championed very reasonable causes, like increased funding for education and poverty relief (let's face it, it's not a difficult job). some even said it changed their lives, for the better, by giving them a meaningful purpose to their lives.
i'm not sure where you're getting your data from that the "proper representation" for Miss USA is most accurately provided by Miss Connor, but if you can provide it, please do.
Who cares?
That's true. It's about as important as Groundhogs day. Actually, I think Groundhogs day is actually way more important. :)
if you view the pageant as a cultural barometer, which it is, it can lead to some interesting discussions.
it is symbolic of the current cultural zeitgeist w/r/t our collective definition of beauty, and when there is controversy, as there is now, the controversy serves as a proxy of our collective sense of morality and/or values.
not to trivialize groundhog day or anything ...
She looks great.
If you look at this Ms. USA and compare her to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, she seems to be a perfect fit.
I was really expecting all the comedy news sites to blast her. The Daily Show did a decent story, but I really wanted to see more of the crying press conference. That's really great. She needs to see some directors to act in some tear jerker movie to come up. Man she's got that pout and sad cry working perfectly.
I too think Tara Conner ( though it sounds too much like Sarah Conner for me to feel safe ) is a gorgeous girl. But it's ridiculous how much this in the news.
How much was said when Muhammad Yunus won the Nobel Peace Prize this year?
Priorities are all messed up.
Tom -
The idea of morality is kind of interesting. When this culture promotes Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan to young girls and not women like Coretta Scott King, Maya Angelou or Dorothy Parker. News is only news because people talk about it.
And seriously who is shocked that she may have been drinking, when she is underaged and done drugs. As much as we will like to pretend that we have morals in our current media, it's a horrible lie and people are shocked everytime something happens. Though people complain about Britney Spears, it's nothing that Madonna hasn't done two decades ago.
She is news because she is so incredibly good looking. Every news outlet repeats that video of her strutting on stage in that bikini and I find it impossible to take my eyes off her. Take it for what it is. I can't find a problem with America going bananas over her. We can't save baby seals everyday.
hi jay:
As much as we will like to pretend that we have morals in our current media, it's a horrible lie and people are shocked everytime something happens.
i agree with you ... people seem to be shocked when someone else gets caught doing something wrong ... but when we ourselves are caught, our reaction is markedly different (excuses, denial, shifting blame, etc).
that's why i think this topic is interesting - it's measuring our collective view on morality ... as well as what we're collectively interested in consuming for "news".
... and as JRO has so astutely pointed out, it's also measuring the current media zeitgeist, in particular, the popularity of a story just because it is about a beautiful (and mostly undressed) woman. is it a coincidence that the bikini pic is the one used for all of these stories? what happened to all of those evening-wear pics [where she is mostly clothed]? and why is this news? the whole pageant was fabricated for and by television and the television industry.
there are probably a couple of sociology PhDs in there...
JRO I agree she's gorgeous. And I can't turn away either, so I guess it makes me a bit of a hypocrite. But I just don't think the nation's focus should be placed on the fact she does what just about every person her age does. I just think that people should treat her like a beauty pageant winner and not the reincarnation of Mother Teresa
Tom Yeah it's obvious her delightful bikini pictures are there for a reason. One being the fact of how she looks and how it causes men (myself included) trip over themselves to look at the television. I guess this is more of me complaining about what the U.S. sees as important and who they see as role models.
I'm not sure why I'm so cynical at the age of twenty two. Haha.
I just think that people should treat her like a beauty pageant winner and not the reincarnation of Mother Teresa
I, for one, would never put up a picture of Mother Teresa in a bikini.
At first I was excited to see 12 photos on this article, but I must say, she looks way hotter when she's got a good buzz going by the pool.
