Bush Refines Take on Prime Minister
REITERATE: President Bush, seeking to show he has not abandoned Iraqi's prime minister, offered a fresh endorsement Wednesday of Nouri al-Maliki.
AFFIRMATION: Bush's words of support were intended to dispel the impression he gave some people Tuesday that he was distancing himself from al-Maliki before a new assessment of conditions in Iraq.
BACKLASH: The prime minister, chafing over Bush's earlier comments, said on Wednesday that his government "can find friends elsewhere."

Is Bush saying, "Pull my finger," in this picture?
- 4 votes
No, he's telling Cheney to point the shotgun the other way.
- 4 votes
No, he's saying:
You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
He's making a list
And checking it twice;
Gonna find out Who's naughty and nice
Santa Claus is coming to town
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!
O! You better watch out!
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town !!

Seriously. I read that a few times trying to figure out if their was some subtext.

They just changed the headline a second ago, which is no fair. I just linked it and commented on how Bush has gone from denying the blantantly obvious to stating the blantantly obvious, but when I clicked the link, it was a totally different title. Change it back!
AP Headline 6 months ago: Bush: Looking at the Sun Does Not Hurt Eyes

Um.... I just read the article again. Bush doesn't say anything about wanting to increase the size of the Army. I second the motion to go back to the old headline.

Just six months ago, the Bushies opposed increases of this kind.
And 2 years ago when Kerry proposed increases like this, Bush's lackey Mehlman said it would make America less safe.
Flip-flop alert! Or rather, hypocrite alert - it's a bad idea when a Democrat proposes it, but when Bush does it, it's wonderful.

Hmm, that's weak. I included 2 links to support my assertations when I made my original post, but they seem to have been edited out. Is that a new Newsvine "feature"?

I don't think trying to mask the minimum wage problematic effect is a good idea, let it hurt let it fail and then we can fix it. Prop it up and make the negative effect harder to see will only help it stick around longer.
Yeah, workers definitely had it better before the minimum wage laws.
The Bush Dynasty represents CORPORATE GREED. Nothing more. Can we get this guy out of office, please?

The headline for this story has changed at least three times.

Weird. The headlines:
Bush: Iraq Insurgents Hurt U.S. Efforts
Bush Wants To Increase Size of Army (paraphrasing, don't remember exactly)
Bush Links Minimum Wage to Tax Break
I didn't even recognize what this story was in my conversation tracker. I hadn't posted anything on any minimum wage articles yesterday.
Wait a minute. What the hell is going on? They not only changed the headline. They changed the entire story. None of this talk about taxes was in here at all yesterday. And today, there's no mention of Iraq except saying the talk was "dominated by it", but no other reference at all. Did the administration or the press secretary lean on AP to change their story? I've seen a headline change by them before, but never a full-text replacement of an article. The only thing that's the same is the picture.
The text about Mary Cheney was completely changed too. Yesterday it said "I'm sure she'll make a fine mother", today it says "we ought to review law to make sure that people are treated fairly".
Color me baffled. I have no faith in anything stated in this article at this point.
