What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

The Reuters lead is a tad different:

MOGADISHU (Reuters) - A U.S. attack plane killed many people with barrages of gunfire in a remote Somali village occupied by Islamists thought to be hiding at least one al Qaeda suspect, a Somali government source said on Tuesday.

It's OK to bomb someplace if you think a terrorist might be there. That's what the President of Somalia, who hasn't set foot in the country for 40 years, said:

"The US has a right to bombard terrorist suspects who attacked its embassies in Kenya and Tanzania," Abdullahi Yusuf, Somalia's interim president said after the attack, which would be the first known direct US military involvement in Somalia since its failed intervention in the Horn of Africa nation in the 1990s.

Yay! More US interventionist policies... back in Africa!

I'm so glad we're continuing these. I mean, they're worked so well in the past..

I don't know what's more sad, the fact that you agree with me or the fact that you thought I was serious.
