I will miss her. She had an incisive wit.
How terrible, I appreciate her writing voice so much. This was my favorite column of hers: Some Kind of 'Manly'
Molly always told it exactly the way it was; I loved everything she wrote. I will miss her writing very much. Darn it. Some of the folks I like the least will probably live into their 90's, still writing junk that is irresponsible and far from amusing. When Molly wrote about it, even though the truth was something that made me personally very upset and unhappy, there always seemed to be something to laugh about when she was through. RIP, Molly Irvins. And Thank You.
The good die young, they say. 62 was too young by far.
Rest in Peace Molly - we'll miss you.
Oh wow, this is such a loss. I cannot express in words how I feel about this. I actually teared up when I read this.
I loved Molly Ivins. Everything I read by her I always had a "right on!" take on it. I loved her down-home liberal take on the issues. I loved her bad-ass Texas feminism. She really encompassed what a common-sense liberal should be. She actually played a part in what liberalism meant to me personally.
You'll be missed, Molly. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the work you did, and I thank you for your inspiration.
I should add - even though it's recent, one of my favorite articles by her is about http://www.commondreams.org/views05/0901-26.htm//">Hurricane Katrina:
This is not "just politics" or blaming for political advantage. This is about the real consequences of what governments do and do not do about their responsibilities. And about who winds up paying the price for those policies.
I know quite a few people that are "uninterested" in politics. And I thought she laid it out really well as to why one really needs to be interested.
She was truly one of the troubadours of news and opinion reporting. A person not beholden to contemporaries; nor to fashion. I read her works for years, and relished her acerbic wit and observations, the same as I enjoyed Charles Kuralt and Bob Dotson. There was an underlying fire beneath the veneer of a professional commentator. I miss her already.
Goodbye, Molly, the world is an emptier, less interesting place without you. We'll all have to work twice as hard to carry your part of the load.
Molly Ivins has long been one of my heroes and it is sad that she has passed on. God bless you, Molly.
First Art Buchwald and now Molly.... Damn. Yours was always the first article in the paper I read every Saturday morning for years now.. without fail.
I just drank a toast to you.. Bourbon. Godawful cheap bourbon that burned all the way down. Now I have tears in my eyes and a bad case of hiccups. The problem with cheap bourbon is that it's never aged long enough.... Rest well Molly.. we will miss you.
At the height of the conservative movement when nearly every other columnist was tacking with the wind, she sailed fearlessly into it, colors flying and won the admiration, if grudging, of even her opponents.

The ones who can reveal the truth to us through the humor of our contradictions are rare and precious.
Fare you well, Molly. You were the among the very best.
I feel her departure in a way that I didn't feel Tom Brokaw's or Dan Rather's. I feel her death in a way that I didn't feel Ed Bradley's. She was a writer -- not a TV journalist -- a woman and southerner, to boot. Her writing made me laugh, helped me rethink assumptions, and sometimes caused a pang of homesickness. more
We will, indeed, miss her. RIP, Molly!! Walk in the Light
Molly Ivins spoke truth to power - I only hope that I can carry a bit of her legacy on my journey and show the same strength, courage, and wit that she when I am faced with the choice to speak out or stay silent.
Peace Molly - I will miss you.
Farewell Molly- I will miss the way you spoke truth to power.
