— The next new episode of ABC's Desperate Housewives entitled "I Remember That" promises the usual level of intrigue, scandal, and drama, including a funeral, a fistfight, and a major character ending up paralyzed.The much-talked-about funeral in this episode is for Ian's wife Jane. Susan (Teri Hatcher) accidentally causes a scene at the funeral after her relationship with Ian (Dougray Scott) is revealed publicly by another woman attending the funeral, who previously had her own eye on Ian romantically.
Mike (James Denton) gets hypnotherapy to try to remember Monique, and regains at least enough of his memories to lead him to punch Orson (Kyle MacLachlan). Monique (Kathleen York) also appears in this episode, despite still being dead.
Problems with the soon-to-open Scavo's Pizzeria continue to trouble Tom and Lynette's marriage. Eva Longoria's Gabrielle has a hot date at her house with a lawyer named Luke (played by Brennan Elliott) but it turns out that he works for Zach (Cody Kasch), who threatens to fire Luke if he doesn't stay away from Gabrielle.
And finally, Bree falls from a ladder and is paralyzed, after Orson finally tells her about the night of Monique's death. Bree's son Andrew (Shawn Pyfrom) thinks Orson is responsible for Bree's fall. This plotline will keep Bree hospitalized for a while in order to better hide actress Marcia Cross's real-life pregnancy. (Not that the constant weird camera angles and putting props in front of her aren't totally working.) Marcia Cross will appear in the following episode ("The Little Things You Do Together," set to air February 18) but then she will likely not appear in any of the remaining episodes of Desperate Housewives' third season, as she has been put on bed rest due to complications with her pregnancy, and presumably will not return until next season, although it's still possible she will appear in the season finale.
