Cage did a pretty good job, despite the film's cruddy dialog. I felt he portrayed the part well.
However, the film was mostly centered around two things: special effects and Eva Mendes' breasts. When either was in the scene, there was nothing else going on. Viewers could safely not listen to any dialog or process any part of the storyline.
I hope for a sequel only because I want to see longer fight scenes. I realize that not every movie can have a Burly Brawl (Matrix 2), Lobby (Matrix 1), or Hallway (Equilibrium), but the fights in Ghost Rider lasted less than 30 seconds and mostly consisted of an ignited Johnny Blaze smiling and laughing followed by some special effect depicting the elemental demon's death.
