Fair play to that man, he just earnt my respect. I'm with him on giving people who are probably suffering enough already a bit of a break; all the people who just rip into celebs all the time should maybe take a month to swap places and see what it's like when they're in the spotlight... That'd be interesting.
Can I spend their money and enjoy the mountains of free swag they get when they can clearly afford it all in that deal? If the answer is "Yes" I'll take that swap.
I hope one day I have so much $$$ it drives me nuts.
Feel sorry for these dopes? Not on your life. Let's face it, Britney and her ilk can't handle the spotlight they're in because they traded even a basic education and life of "normal" everyday experience for FAME and the $$ that comes with it. These people are getting what they ask for. Nay, what they BEG for and you expect me to weep for them because they are too stupid to handle it?
Did you ever notice how entertainers that at one time led a normal adult life and are now suddenly famous just don't have these over the edge problems? They do their job, collect their free crap and big paychecks, smile pretty for the camera and you just don't hear from them until they are out promoting something.
BOO HOO HOO dopey Britney is crazy! You must be kidding. She's at home right now drying her tears with $100 dollar bills.

Actually from what I understand, she's in a rehab clinic at the moment.
Hmm, interesting quote error there... Im the one who made the comment about her being in a rehab clinic. Scarlet Pride is the guy moved to tears.
Begging a thousand pardons. Britney is in Antigua drying out by wiping her tears with $272 East Caribbean Dollar Bills
Where are her chill'uns? Kevin Federline, full-time rapper, part-time dad...
Good for him. It's really sad when it's news that somebody is NOT making fun of a person who's apparently going through a tough time.
Sorry that reminds of me of an Eddie Izzard line...
"Oh, fair play to the Queen, killed the crazy dog."
give the woman a break.
are people so bored with their own life?
While I agree that it's a good deed for Craig Ferguson to spare Britney, as she has become something of a pitiable figure, I can't disapprove of those who mock her. Britney is someone who, for much of her career, has indefatigably courted public attention. Even this last event seems a clear grab at publicity of some kind--one isn't trying to maintain privacy by going to a public salon and shaving one's head. Not, at least, when one is Britney Spears. Like all celebrities, the price she pays for fame is a lack of privacy, and while I wouldn't say that's fair, or just, she long ago gave up her right to indignation by seeking the limelight so wolfishly. That said, she's not had much positive support in her life, and it may be that she truly does need professional help or care of some kind. Those kinder souls among us can only hope she gets it.
Very much a side note, but your comment about a public salon spurred the thought:
Does anyone else find it odd she went to a salon to get her head shaved? I mean, any monkey with a 20-buck set of clippers, a #2 guard and about 15 minutes of free time can successfully shave their own head. It's not hard, and certainly doesn't require a Beverly Hills salon.
What would be the point of celebrity if she were to have shaved her head in her own bathroom at her own home? She could even set the camera on auto and take the pics herself... What would be the point of celebrity if she were to call the rehab clinic ahead of time and check in, say, in the evening of the night before?
You know, Britney Spears began her little climb to fame when she was a very young teenager. I believe she was a mouseketeer? Her whole life she's been driven to succeed in show business, and when you start that young it's pretty safe to assume that her family was doing some pushing.
She's still a very young girl, very confused. I don't really care whether she made a mistake, I think it's more relevant to think about what it means about us, when we choose to hold up an extremely confused young woman to public ridicule.
Twice divorced, wealthy, 25 year old mother of two. She needs to grow up and get help. The public ridicule is because she has decided to do this in public.
Would you clarify how she decided to do this in public?
i can make fun of her
