While I'm thrilled to see Davis come back to Texas, and I loved him as a Longhorn, I'm worried that Dallas might have overpaid here. Yes, quality offensive linemen don't show up on the market too often, and yes his versatility is a plus. And I'll agree he's got huge upside and ideal physique. But those guys who don't live up to their potential worry me. Davis hasn't played with much fire in the NFL.
The cap's a lot higher now than it's been, so there's money available and the O-line needed some serious help in Dallas. This could end up being a good buy. Now, if we can bring in Joey Porter, or, better Adalius Thomas then I'll go ahead and mark this an A off-season even before the draft.
And speaking of UT linemen--Dockery's getting himself paid too.
