Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

With today's research and technology fields being as advanced as they are it is absolutely clear that global warming is going on, and it is having adverse effects on out planet. Two other points is that some officials need to get it through their heads that it is no longer an issue of "if" it is happening but how to change it. Why then are these republican representatives still slandering and arguing over an attention paid to it? It should receive one of the highest attention levels in all our politics today, yet they still complain over their meager budget that took away a fraction from the ethics comity. The reason why they are so eager to live in denial over this pressing could be a number of factors including; considering the fiscal ramifications, trying to contrast themselves with Democrats, and showing their bias with the oil companies that contributed to some of their campaigns. However the biggest reason is that the Republican party leader, the current president has refused to even acknowledge the fact that global warming exists and is reeking havoc on our planet.

Why has this president not commented is still a mystery, to some people it ranks up with the top three political issues that this nation is facing. Yet he has said nothing on it, and still continues to pay scientists that claim it isn't going on. Now it would be a waste of time to sit here and list all the factors that prove that global warming is going on. It would be redundant of the other resources that do a much better job of it than I could. However I will simply point you into the directing of the Environmental Protection Agency, a branch of our own government. Or if that looks to boring then a video entitled "An inconvenient Truth" will provide some fascinating and troubling images of the effects of global warming that you can see even today. Clearly though if these top government officials like Rep. Joe Barton R-Texas, will not acknowledge this global threat, it will have ramifications for the next thousand years, perhaps longer.
