Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I still say the best way to see the Grand Canyon is from down below. I once did a 10 day rafting trip through the Canyon. It was absolutely amazing. There's not much better than waking up along the bank of the Colorado, watching the sun rise above the rim of the canyon.

I was at this site a few years ago - it was a pretty long drive in from Vegas but they had a helicopter fly you through the canyon and back which was the best part. After seeing the bottom, I totally wanted to do the rafting... breath-taking.

this is going to be the new suicide hotspot. It used to be the Golden Gate Bridge in SF for a long time. They even made a movie about it...what was its name?

That's the first thing I thought of too... really says something about society today doesn't it? Only after a few seconds did I really think about the positives.

Why waste the money on a ticket? There is plenty of uncrowded canyon to jump off of. It's not exactly fenced in.

Jon, a lot of people who kill themselves have a tendency to want to leave with a bang, not to mention that they don't plan on coming back to life thereafter, the price of the ticket is irrelevant.

Anywhere around the canyon is absolutely stunning -- either side, top, or bottom or from any direction. You look at it and don't believe it's really there. A little water, given enough time . . .

You're right. Let's tear it down. In fact, let's ban tourists from the park. While we're at it, let's just ban tourism everywhere. After all, it @!$%#s up the environment.

One of the greatest wonders of the earth and at a birds eye view that people who can't afford the helicopter rides may see. But as for me I can only dream. I can't even get up on the third step of a ladder or ride a Farris wheel..

As people walk across it, the glass layers creak and the deck wobbles almost imperceptibly.

I have nightmares that sound a lot like this. Really!
