Bush Serves Jokes at Broadcasters Dinner

advertisement

GAUNTLET THROWN: President Bush called for the top 15 greenhouse gas producing nations, including the U.S., to set a goal for reducing the pollution by the end of 2008.

HOT TOPIC: The announcement could deflect criticism during next week's summit of leading industrialized nations, where global warming is sure to be discussed.

CLEARING THE AIR: The countries would begin talks this fall, but each would be able to develop its own strategy.

What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Rock on! Nice to be able to laugh with him, instead of laughing at or weeping about him.

Rock On!

You are being manipulated.

You are being manipulated intentionally, systematically, and with exacting attention to your psychological makeup and the constructed culture that formed it.

You are being manipulated in order to maintain the monopoly that constructed that culture, to deprive you of your civil liberties, prosperity, and ability to think for yourself.

You are being manipulated to further the interests of a cabal of traitors whose fiat power over your constitution is paraded daily in Bush's orders and signing statements.

You are being manipulated to obtain your tacit consent for corporate sociopathy, American coups d'etat, the slaughter of millions, the subjugation and annihilation of your civilization.

You are being manipulated. And that's why you can't believe a word I've written here.

Rock On!

"in remarks that drew laughter and applause at the Washington Hilton Hotel."

Wow, the MSM was able to fawn all over him just like it was a regular press conference, and they didn't even have to break character. Good for them!

my approval rating was in the 30s

and it's so much better now at barely 40.

you know why it's rising? because he hasn't done anything bad lately. The country's lack of long-term memory is helping his rating rise. It's a sad day when the best thing the President can do is avoid f*cking up something new.

Youre kidding right? We just haven't found out all the bad things he's doing lately, although as I recall the Attorney scandal and threatening to veto a spending bill giving the troops the funding and support they need are both relatively recent F$*(ups. He says congress MUST send a clean bill, or I will VETO it and THEY will have been unsupportive of the troops. C'mon, Mr Bush, we know it is YOU who are betraying the troops by insisting they carry out a decreasingly possible mission.

last I checked it was below 30... and the brewing Attorneygate mess.

I've yet to see a poll near 40%.

I just Googled "bush approval rating" and went with what came up.

Rasmussen Reports says 40%. Polling Report says:
Gallup: 34%
Newsweek: 30%

Most of them are hovering in the mid-30s. So... yeah, I guess not much has changed. Way to make a joke as if your "in the 30s" ratings were sooooooooooo last year, Bush.

That was my first initial visual mental image after reading this article.

Must be nice to be in charge of the army and makes jokes like that.

I wonder how long it takes a president to understand his mistakes as commander-in-chief...Jimmy Carter has gained infinite wisdom in the past recent years, but will Mr Bush?

In the great words of Borat:

in my country they would go crazy for these two..uh...him, not so much.

I know this is supposed to be funny but it's so tragic to me to see the President joking about what a complete failure he is while our soldiers get slaughtered in Iraq on a daily basis.
