Bush Apologizes for Walter Reed Woes

I would like to see some apologies from the contractor IAP Worldwide Board of Directors running Walter Reed into the ground under cost plus contracts. Who you ask are these Directors? Former VP Dan Quayle, Former Treasury Secretary John Snow and recently retired General Michael Hagee. Here's the IAP Press Release from last month.

Retired Marine Corps Gen. Michael W. Hagee Appointed to IAP Board of Directors

Cape Canaveral, Florida – IAP Worldwide Services, Inc., a leading government services contractor, announced today that Gen. Michael W. Hagee, who retired early this year after serving as the 33rd Commandant of the Marine Corps, has joined IAP's Board of Directors effective today. Gen. Hagee was also named Special Advisor to the Chairman, CEO and President, where he will provide strategic advice and guidance to IAP's business operations in the global marketplace.

Hagee will use his rare combination of insightful strategic planning capabilities and experiences, and wide-ranging on-the-ground military expertise to help guide IAP's business operations and market strategies in the areas of logistics support and special programs worldwide," said Dave Myers, chairman of the IAP Board of Directors. "Gen. Hagee's distinguished career, combined with his extensive leadership experience, makes him the ideal person at the right time to join our board."

Gen. Hagee retired from the Marine Corps as Commandant on Jan. 1 following a distinguished 39-year military career. His command assignments included Commanding General of the 1st Marine Division and of the I Marine Expeditionary Force. He served as Marine Commandant from January 2003 through November 2006. His staff assignments included serving as Senior Military Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense; Executive Assistant to the Director of Central Intelligence; Deputy Director of Operations, Headquarters, of the U.S. European Command; and Director Strategic Plans and Policy, U.S. Pacific Command.

Gen. Hagee graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He also holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He is a graduate of the Command and Staff College and the U.S. Naval War College.

With the appointment of Gen. Hagee, IAP's Board of Directors has expanded its distinguished group of military, government and civilian leaders with global experience and recognition in the marketplace. The Board also includes former Vice President Dan Quayle, Gen. Michael P.C. Carns (Ret.), former Vice Chief of Staff, U.S. Air Force; and Gen. George A. Joulwan (Ret.), former Commander in Chief, U.S. European Command and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe.
