This has't come from the most reliable of sources, but it's been picking up a big head of steam in various UK press outlets and, while those are far from reliable, it's worth discussing. According to some unnamed ABC sources, Dancing with the Stars is making a big push to get Victoria Beckham (aka "Posh Spice") to appear as a contestant on next Fall's season of Dancing with the Stars.
This makes some sense when you consider that Victoria's husband, footballer David Beckham, will be in the midst of his first season playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer. Victoria will need something to keep her busy in L.A., right? This would be a major coup for Dancing with the Stars, seeing as they've typically dealt with only C and D-list celebrities up to this point, and Victoria, at least in her own country, has achieved stratospheric fame.
The word (and, again, these sources aren't entirely reliable) is that Beckham's interest has been sparked by Heather Mills' thus far successful participation on this season's Dancing with the Stars. Through her appearance on Dancing with the Stars, Heather Mills has become somewhat of a popular topic of conversation Stateside, but she is not nearly as popular (or infamous) here in the States as she was/is back home in England.
One reason I'm skeptical of this report (or that Beckham would even consider doing ii) is that the Beckhams already have a deal in place for their own reality series. Although there's not much information about that show just yet, it seems likely that, given the couple's incredible fame, Victoria probably wouldn't want to share the stage with D-Listers.
But, you never know. Crazier things have happened. Once the Beckham era begins here in the United States this summer, I suppose anything is possible.
