— As usual, Marg Helgenberger's got a lot more on her plate than just her role as CSI's Catherine Willows. She's also starring in several films coming out soon, alongside stars like Val Kilmer, Kevin Costner, and Demi Moore.

In "Mr. Brooks," Helgenberger appears opposite Kevin Costner as Emma Brooks. Set for a June 2007 release, "Mr. Brooks" is a thriller about a seemingly perfect businessman, philanthropist, and devoted husband and father Earl Brooks (Kevin Costner) who's secretly a serial killer. (Gee, too bad Marg can't bring her CSI skills in to catch the killer.)

William Hurt appears as Marshall, the "wicked alter ego" of Mr Brooks. Demi Moore also stars as Detective Tracy Atwood, and Dane Cook plays Mr. Smith, a photographer who witnesses one of the murders.

CSI trivia: Danielle Panabaker (Julie Stark of Shark), who plays Earl and Emma's daughter Jane, once appeared on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and is the older sister of Kay Panabaker, who currently plays the daughter of Marg Helgenberger's CSI character Catherine Willows.

(More CSI connections: Both Lindsay Crouse, who plays Captain Lister in Mr Brooks, and Reiko Aylesworth, who plays Sheila, also appeared on episodes of CSI with Helgenberger; both Matt Schulze, who plays Thorton Meeks, and Jason Lewis, who plays Jesse Vialo, have been on CSI: Miami.)

And in the upcoming crime drama "Columbus Day," produced by Kevin Spacey's company Trigger Street Prods, she plays the ex-wife of Val Kilmer's character. Wilmer Valderrama of That 70s Show also stars.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Kilmer will play "a thief who has just one morning to fix what has gone awry in the biggest heist of his life, all while attempting to repair his relationship with his ex-wife (Helgenberger). Valderrama will play a longtime associate who helps plan the crime despite grave concerns."

Filming has just begun on "Columbus Day." "Mr. Brooks" will be in theatres June 1.
