greer

The replay shows a defenceman reached out and blocked it with his stick at the last second. I'm sure Shaefer is kicking himself anyway, though.

The numbers will show this game was dominated by the Ducks, but the truth is it was a pretty evenly matched game, the difference in shots, Anaheim's defense shut down the scoring chances of the Senators while the Sens relied on the heart of their defense, Ray Emery, to keep them in the game. If the Senators want any chance in this series they need to figure out how to beat the Ducks defense, and the Ducks should know if they can figure out Emery, they could runaway with this one. Personally I think the Ducks defense and offense is too deep for the Senators to handle adn eventually, Emery is going to give up a goal if you throw enough pucks at him like the Ducks did tonight (30 shots to 16 shots). I will stick with my prediction, Ducks in 5.
